We’ve been to Sunday services at the Urban Vineyard Church in Auckland for the past few weeks. They meet in St Paul’s school hall in Ponsonby, which is just round the corner from where we’re staying. We received a warm welcome from the pastor, Cameron, and from the members of the church. The recent teaching, based on the Sermon on the Mount and the reaction people had to it at the time, has been thought provoking and the worship – led by a talented group of musicians – uplifting.
Mid way through the service there is a break for (excellent!) coffee and during the summer months they invite people to stay for a barbecue afterwards. (Even last Sunday’s torrential rain didn’t put them off!)
