Little free libraries have popped up all over NZ in the last few years. You simply borrow a book then return or replace it. The books are stored in anything from old lockers to empty fridges or chests. You find them in towns and cities or in the middle of nowhere. We saw this one on the west coast region of Muriwai.

Arn’t these great? We have them in Sydney too. The local schoolchildren painted the one we have in Putney.
Love following your travels, looks like fun!
Not cooling down in Sydney much at the moment!
Hi Wendy! Great to hear from you! Hope all going well – no more days of 40 degrees in Sydney I hope?! We’ve just had the tail end of Cyclone Gita here in Wellington(!) – but pretty much back to normal now. Do let us know when if you’re flying over to the UK. Love Val & Paul
