We went to Vineyard City Church yesterday, just round the corner from where we’re staying in Auckland. Numbers were smaller than when we were there two years ago, but the welcome was warm. They told us they had recently had a church plant, which was really encouraging news. Rebuilding, though, takes a bit of time and faith..

CORONAVIRUS PRECAUTIONS NZ: UPDATE TUES 4th FEB….
The news in The Press today is that all non-New Zealanders on flights from China will be refused entry for the next 14 days. (This includes transit passengers).
About 70 New Zealander residents and citizens will be ‘evacuated’ from Wuhan this week and will spend two weeks in quarantine. NZ citizens or residents who are returning from elsewhere in China have been ‘requested to self-isolate’ for two weeks. The government’s advice to citizens is ‘Do Not Travel to (anywhere in) China’.
Halting Chinese visitors for two weeks is estimated to cost New Zealand $940 million (£470 million) in loss of tourism earnings.
