View from house over Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables

Puts our views over Swillbrook Lake into perspective, doesn’t it?!
Shan’t be so smug in future . . .
I have very fond memories of Lake Wakatipu, which was pretty blue when I was there in 1986!
Hi Teresa. It all looks a little like a model with a cardboard cut out for the mountains and tiny model trees. The scale is truly vast. The Remarkables form the back drop and are 2319 metres high ( the highest point – Double Cone); to but this in perspective Ben Nevis in Scotland is 1344 metres high – so these mountains are nearly twice as high as our highest peak in the UK. The lake is 80 km long and 291 sq km ( 112 sq miles).
