CORONAVIRUS PRECAUTIONS NZ: UPDATE TUES 4th FEB….

The news in The Press today is that all non-New Zealanders on flights from China will be refused entry for the next 14 days. (This includes transit passengers).

About 70 New Zealander residents and citizens will be ‘evacuated’ from Wuhan this week and will spend two weeks in quarantine. NZ citizens or residents who are returning from elsewhere in China have been ‘requested to self-isolate’ for two weeks. The government’s advice to citizens is ‘Do Not Travel to (anywhere in) China’.

Halting Chinese visitors for two weeks is estimated to cost New Zealand $940 million (£470 million) in loss of tourism earnings.
